When I was in high school I got picked on a lot. I don’t think I ever reached over 135lbs. I was called every name, pushed around and beat up. I dressed weird and looking back in retrospect that was probably the reason I attracted so much unwanted attention.
Most people didn’t talk to me or associate with me as to ruin their own reputation . One person stood up for me at a time when I was unable to stand up for myself. I watched him fight people for me, and confront anyone who ever fucked with me. I never knew why one of the “cool kids” would have risked their popularity for me. When I think back to the shitty days of High School I mostly remember Mike looking out for me.
Mike was a great friend, and he is by far the toughest most fearless kid I’ve ever met. Mike posted this on my facebook today. I hope that you can take the time to read it, and Reblog it or something if you or someone you know is suffering from MS or any other debilitating disease.
“i was 14 when i was diagnosed with m.s. i used to box, wrestle, and play baseball….i went blind (optic nueritis) in my left eye in wrestling practice. ever since then i have been working out mon-fri. The way i fight the war that goes on in my body is by lifting weights, cardio, movement patterns, plyrometrics, isometrics, extreme core workouts etc. i attend 150 mi bike rides and ms walks every year. I go to UPENN for my treatment…i hope that atleast 1 person will come by this and help them…i thought my life was hopeless, worthless and a box i simply couldnt get out of. i was also diagnosed with a spinal cord and kidney disease…simple exercizing is so very crucial with having this illness. i attend N.P.T.I. for exercize science and nutrition…if ANYONE reads this and has ms or any illness at that feel free to talk…i kno what its like to be in a hospital bed for weeks at a time, tubes stuck all over my body, spinal taps and other painful procedures. Basically what im getting to is u have to keep youre muscles wokring to keep from atrophying(sp)…we can beat this all of us together….even if its a simple phone call to talk to someone that knows where youre coming from. i take Avonex Beta-1 interfueron IM injections once a week that make me very sick for 1 day and a half…as i said im always here to talk to anyone about this, and if u cant workout„,just walk…if youre in a wheelchair god bless you but try and get in a pool with the asistance of someone to just move youre limbs around. dont give up for anything. DONT EVER GIVE UP.” -Mike McMullin
